SEMINAR INTRODUCTION TO FRENCH AGRICULTURE ADAPTATION FOR E.U. RESIDENTS
OBJECTIVE
To provide a background to French agriculture and its organisation and facilitate the installation and social-professional integration of E. U. residents wishing to farm in France.
COURSE CONTENT
- Presentation of the region ; geography, agronomy, economy etc...
- Legal organisation relating to the agricultural system
- Organisation of the agricultural administration and their activities
- Assessment of a farming situation considering both social and financial factors
- The administrative process involved when setting up as a foreigner farmer
- Visits of various interests (agricultural, social, etc.)
- Study of practical situations.
LANGUAGE
Lectures are given in French and translated into English,
ORGANISATION:
- There are usually 2 sessions throughout the year:
- The course lasts for 2 weeks ; 100 hours
- The course will be given by a team of in house lecturers, outside professionals and translators.
- The setting up and the organisation of the course, together with the selection of candidates, is assured by a committee consisting of members of the «Conseil Regional » and agricultural organisations together with the C.F.P.P.A.
COST OF THE COURSE
- 610 € for one person
- 995 € for a couple
(Private expenses are at the trainees ' expense).
The course is homologated by the government as an equivalent to the young farmers 40 hour course.
